The major purpose of this laboratory-based college preparatory course is to provide understanding of the basic biological concepts:the diversity of organisms; matter, energy and physiology.Focus is on active student participation in laboratory investigations and the development of critical thinking skills.Biology A meets the Grades 9-12 District life science graduation requirement.This course meets one semester of the University of California entrance requirement for laboratory science.
COURSE OJECTIVES:
To empower students through their engagement in a rigorous high school biology program.
To encourage and develop group skills which increase student participation and comprehension.
